Always Innovating HDMI dongle

Hi all, saw this story:

And thought others here might be interested too. I'm wondering about the potential for it to be an XBMC device. Although they are talking up the Android support, according to the product page it runs Ubuntu as well:

All my storage is network based, so I'm thinking this could be the perfect solution to get the rest of the TV's in the house connected. But in terms of XBMC support for this hardware, I've no idea - anyone have any thoughts?

Runs Android.
Code:
GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES ON `xbmc_%`.* TO 'xbmc'@'%';
IF you have a mysql problem, find one of the 4 dozen threads already open.

Yes it does. But as I mentioned it seems to run Ubuntu as well, quote from the page I linked to:

"It comes with an optimized hardware design and a fully Open Source software solution including Angstrom, Ubuntu and Android."

Admittedly that is under the section labelled "Available now for licensing" so it's not clear if the consumer version will do this, but I'd be surprised if it didn't.

Should theoretically run XBMC, doesn't list what GPU it has which is important as XBMC needs OpenGL but other than that if you're willing to compile from source it should be doable.

Ubuntu hasn't supported ARM for a few generations now, but there are still active ports of Debian and Arch for ARM.

From todays annoucment though, looks like we have a new "Ubuntu TV" version which runs on ARM:

Could be a good base to run XBMC from. I'm trying to find out what GPU the dongle runs, but not sure yet.
