I am completely new to linux and XBMC. The computer I am working with is a netbook with Edubuntu 11.04. I successfully installed XMBC, and was enjoying trying different skins when one of them (refocus) wreaked havoc on my system. Now when ever I open XBMC (which is set to open to videos) there is very little in the window, and I am unable to navigate to settings to change the skin. (It displays "next aired" and "TV 0/0" and a few boxes toward the bottom. When I press esc it goes to a blank blue screen.
I have tried uninstalling in several different ways (through synaptic package manager, terminal, software center), then reinstalling. I have also tried:
sudo apt-get clean - and - rm -rf ~/.xbmc
STILL when I open the media center, I get the same issue. After a half a day playing on XBMC followed by another half a day trying to recover it, I am about ready to give up. Any help would be very much appreciated.
