[RELEASE] Radio Add-on (rad.io, radio.de, radio.fr, radio.pt, radio.es) Music Plugin

I can't get any of the streams I try with this addon to work either on Kodi 15. I wound up uninstalling it. Undecided

I'm down to 2 internet radio streaming addons now, and who knows how long they'll last.

I'm kind of thinking the handwriting is on the wall as far as Kodi is concerned. Both video and audio streaming addons have been dropping like flies. All the good addons are disappearing fast.

I'm thinking it's time to replace my RPi's with computers capable of running a full OS so I can use a browser to watch YouTube etc and listen to online radio... Undecided

Too bad. :-[

I updated to Kodi 16 and this problem, and problems with some of my other plugins, went away. I'm going to turn off all of my automatic addon updating, as I am guessing that this was the problem- addons updated for 15 or 16 and I was still on 14 so they were broken. Oddly the Radio plugin only broke one of my two streams; but whatever, its working fine now.

Oh, I forgot to add this- one of my streams used to pick up the artist name from the stream, display it in the 'now playing' section and then put some fanart while it was playing. This stopped working a while ago, so is this them changing the format of their stream, or maybe that CU Lyrics addon or whatever it was that I disabled? Does anyone know? Thanks in advance!!!

On Kodi 16/RPi2:
Lot's of issues with this addon, simply adding stations to "My stations" without having tried to play back anything already causes errors.
Also, when I do play a radio station, and want to stop it but the screen is dimmed and I hit the return button, Radio freaks out and goes into a loop trying to play each station one by one.

Too bad, I believe this addon has not been maintained for 3 years so it makes sense stuff breaks with new Kodi versions and the stream url of lots of stations also change.

Any alternatives? Only thing I can think of is to manually create a .m3u playlist with my radio stations. For most European countries you can find the stream urls of most stations here:
http://www.listenlive.eu
But in most cases it is a m3u file itself, since there are multiple mirrors for 1 station. So I don't know how to create a nice playlist that views nicely in Kodi, with 1 listing per station instead of multiple.

THERE YOU GO:
TuneIn addon for Kodi!
This is great. Especially if you have TuneIn on your phone. You can just follow the radio stations in the app. And they will appear in Kodi as well after you login.
Super easy.

how do i remove and or stop kodi/the radio plugin from showing radio station information/song title, please advise how to block that, because it pops up when songs change, and in full screen visualization mode its really a mood breaker. thainks in advance

Thank you, Tristan, for my favorite Kodi addon. I love the way the stations are categorized. I've been trying to figure out how to have the identical functionality in Plex but I guess I must settle for Shoutcast2.

Is there a way trough JSON to see what stations are in the my stations list?
I can directly open the directory on my screen with: {"jsonrpc":"2.0","id":1,"method":"GUI.ActivateWindow","params":{"window":"music","parameters":["plugin://plugin.audio.radio_de/stations/my/"]}}

But I don't know how to fetch a list with the stations.

Great AddOn,
but I cannot find how to switch off FanArt,
where I can find how to do that?
thanks

No trouble, I found...
It is in "general" parameter for music

I am using the Kodi Radio add-on on a Raspberry-pi to provide music at home. I ran into the problem that sometimes when the radio stream gets interrupted, it does not pick up again and I had to manually restart it. Since googling did not provide me with a solution. I created my own add-on which provides a Kodi service that will check every 15 seconds if a radio station is playing. If the radio station is changed, it stores the current radio station name in the add-ons settings file, if the radio station is no longer playing, it is restarted. This also works when Kodi is fresh started, it will restart the last playing radio station. I've added a notification option that can be used to check if the service is indeed doing its thing every 15 seconds. Perhaps this is useful for others who are using the Radio add-on for the same purpose. It currently only works well if you use your Kodi only as a radio station. If a movie stream is played and gets interrupted, it is completely restarted instead of continuing where it left off (you can of course temorarily disable the add-on to avoid this). For a radio stream this works perfect however. The Kodi zip install files are here: http://tuxfrank.altervista.org/StreamKee...index.html
I hope it is of use to somebody and I thought I'd be best to put a message here at the forum to enable anybody to use, adapt or enhance the tool as he/she sees fit.

Hi sphere,
Very nice addon! Congratulation!
I want to ask about a very useful feature: could you insert a button to recorde music?
If there is how can I activate it?

Greetings
A.

I tried this addon, and most stations don't work, I assume support on this addon has stopped ?? If I login to the Tunein site all stations play, out of 10 saved on Kodi, only one works, any suggestions.

Regardless of whether or not support for the add-on has stopped, I don't have any issues with it.

What you need to bear in mind is that the add-on is dependant upon the website(s) that it connects to having the information you require. For instance, the rad.io website no longer contains details for 'Planet Rock', yet I added this into my favourites over two years ago and the add-on still plays the station just fine, despite it not appearing in any lists within it.

If you are having issues, perhaps if you provide some examples of what isn't working for you, then someone may be able to offer some advice.
