With the cost of these APU's being so low compared to a CPU/GPU setup , I think that going for the a8 instead of a6 should not be an issue , the only deciding factor i see would be the TDP / heat .

well, in North America,
try to find a low profile A8 cpu cooler 100W TDP ready Tongue
there's none.
so depending on the case you'll stick that 100W TDP APU in,
you might have a hard time finding a cooler for it if using a sort of slim case.

Depends where you live here its nearly double the price.
Got my A6 for 70€, A8-3850 is about 120€+

now where TeKo lives, by going with an A8 APU in a slim case,
depending on which one,
he can buy the CoolerMASTER GEMINII M4 cooler which handles 100W TDP CPU's.

Hehe its like that with everything, even stuff like steam Wink
Bought a Torqx2 32gb for 56€ this week a month or so ago the $ price was 35 and even this week it was 45$.

Isnt the CoolerMASTER GEMINII M4 nearly identical with the Big Shuriken 1/2?

I still think the Shuriken 2 should be able to handle 100W cpu.

As far as performance, A8-xxxx is the more powerful beast and it's the best all-in-one APU on the market!
>Alienware X51- do it all HTPC
>Simplify XBMC configurations
>HOW-TO Bitstreaming using XBMC
I refused to watch movie without bitstreaming HD audio!

Unlikely...because they're replacing A8-xxxx with the Trinity this year! Smile

They announced it Dec 20, 2011

Before releasing its highly-anticipated A-series "Trinity" APUs for desktop computer later in the year, AMD will refresh the family of its accelerated processing units with unlocked A8-3870K and A6-3670K "Llano" chips as well as A8-3820, A6-3620 and A4-3420 products in January, 2012.
