[ATV2] xbmc crashes left idling, b1 (Git:20111222-22ad8e4)
#1
Platform: ATV2
IOS Version: 4.4.4 (3330)
XBMC build: Built on Dec 24 2011 (Git:20111222-22ad8e4)
Install method: apt-get
Network connection: wired
AUdio connection: hdmi
Skin: Confluence
Addons: youtube, xbmc subtitles

I have just the essential addons such as NitoTV, syslog and the rest that comes along following the xbmc wiki install instructions.

XBMC crashes after been left idling at main menu. I have no problems at all with content playback. I'm not quite sure but it seems that XBMC doesn't crash if I don't play any content at all after it has been started and left idling. If I play a few minutes from some videofiles it crashes about 30-60 minutes after been left idling.

I have never experienced a crash while playing content on this current xbmc build.

Let me know if I need to provide any more logs or information.

I had exactly the same problem. I went to the FAQ and followed the various performance and crash related tips and I no longer have any crashes. I think what did it for me was turning off airplay in the apple menu (not the xbmc menu).

This is the faq I'm referring to...hope it helps

Then you didn't have the exactly same crash as the thread reporter. The crash which has appeared here was during id3tag parsing of a mp3 file. And this special crash is already fixed in mainline and will hit the world with beta2.
