Aspect ration problem in mp4/m4v files
#1
Today I have noticed a problem with playing an m4v file with resolution 640x480 and Pixel-Aspect-Ratio of 1.33, which implies that the correct display-aspect-ratio should be a 16:9. However the the current pre-eden beta 1 is displaying the video as 4:3. The MKV version of the file however does not have the problem, and XBMC correctly renders it as a 16:9 content. The same M4V file played with VLC and quicktime renders the correct aspect ratio (16:9). So it seems that XBMC is correctly reading the PAR data for MKV container, but not for the MP4/M4V container.

After some searching in the forum, I have found this old thread (http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=76363) with the exact same problem. Apparently the the problem was fixed in nightly builds after 9.11 (http://trac.xbmc.org/ticket/9013), which would mean it was fixed for Dharma. But looks like the problem is back in pre-eden beta 1.

Could any of the XBMC developer please have a look at this, and check whether this bug is back in this beta? Thanks!

EDIT:

I was testing with some other files and XBMC displayed them correctly! It seems like a muxing problem with the files that are not displayed correctly. I will do some further testing and post back if I find an issue.
