Group 6, Have R5450. Is 1080p build for $150 possible?

Big Grin
Hi all, sorry for the long read.

I've read the "which group am I in" thread, and I'm a bit of a hybrid #6. I REALLY want to try XBMC (preferrably on linux), and have wanted to for some time. I have a PS3 and a region-free DVD player for my disc needs.

I have some spare parts, but unfortunately, nothing with a mobo to fit my HD5450 I bought last year. ($15 on slickdeals IIRC, so money is spent, not counting towards budget.)

I am trying to build an XBMC around my current spare parts for max $150 shipped. If I can't keep it less than that, I'll probably go ATV2 and just deal with the 720p output. Edit: Or the Asus OPlay and just play everything off a USB drive.
No

I need a small case (mini or micro) w/ PSU w/ remote.
Mobo + CPU
RAM
Optical out to work with my receiver that doesn't pass audio through HDMI.

I have spare IDE and SATA HDDs, no budget for SSD this year.

When trying eSkRo's cheapest ($245) build, I come up with:

[CPU] Intel Celeron G530 Dual-Core 2.4GHz LGA1155 65W ($53 + $0)
[MOBO] ASRock H67M-ITX LGA-1155 UEFI SATA-III USB3 eSATA S/PDIF mITX ($87 + $0)
[GPU] My MSI R5450 (already have)
[CASE+PSU] Apex MI-008 Black mITX 250W ($51 shipped Amazon Prime)
[FAN] SilenX EFX-12-15 120mm 1400RPM 74CFM 15dBA ($12 + $3)
TOTAL: $206

Any way to trim this $56, while adding enough RAM for my needs AND a remote? I'm experienced around Amazon (have Prime) and Newegg (built three PCs)... but I don't have enough HTPC knowledge to know if it can be done. I do not necessarily need to transcode, but I would like to be able to stream hulu, crackle, youtubehd, etc.

I have an NFS-7 Mobo and OC'd AMD 2200 that is about 10 years old I thought I would tear apart last night and try my 5450 with, but the mobo doesn't have the slot for the 5450. (whichever PCIE it is...).

All help is appreciated.

The only thing i could see you doing is going with a mATX form factor...that should allow you to trim a few bucks off the mobo and case. A lot more selection with mATX which gets you better pricing.
Main HTPC:
Intel e4600 + AMD HD5450 + Antec NSK2480B case + 4gb ddr2 + Earthwatts 430 + 1.5tb Seagate 7200 + XBMC Rapier Qualar Mod Skin + Win7
Office HTPC/Ripper/Server:
AMD x4 635 + GT220 + Antec 300 case + 4gbddr3 + OCZ ModXStream 500 psu + 3x2tb WD green drives + Win7

Intel Celeron G530 2.4GHz LGA 1155 Dual Core Processor

Micro Center has the CPU for $39.99. I don't know what shipping will run you.
HTPC: Apex MI-008 | Foxconn H67S | Celeron G530 | G.SKILL 4GB | Crucial 64 SSD| Arctic Cooling | PicoPSU-160-XT

Thanks, but it's in-store only...

Anyone have any other ideas? Possible to use an older mobo cpu combo and get 1080p with DTS/5.1?
