Atv2 4.3(2557) has NitoTV and had XBMC working until I updated to b1 then crashed. I have been trying to update to b2 but no matter what i try to do XBMC goes to black screen for a few secs then returns to Atv2 main menu.

There is no B2 yet?

Try trashing your guisettings.xml (in user data, after backing it up somewhere) and then start XBMC.

My bad on the B2, apparently it's dropped while I was out.

Corrupted DB file. SSH into the ATV2 and type in:

rm -f /private/var/mobile/Library/Preferences/XBMC/userdata/Database/*db

to wipe out the DBs and then recreate them.
