Hi, I have a Acer aspire Revo 3610 with eden beta 1 unstable on linux, i have a 5.1 system conected in optical drive, but i cant play movies with the optical ouput, I try all the settings, Iec958 HDA Nvidia, iec958, default... and no one runs, some one can help me ?

Hi

Your Optical output is probably muted, it was the case on my HTPC
Try to go to the console and start alsamixer from there

In alsamixex select S/PDIF and use the "m" on you keyboard to un-mute it

The MM schould change to 00

then exit with Q and go back to xbmc
Select optical in your settings

spdif was on, cuz i play vdr and xine and works fine with 5.1
