The plugin works without issues, but i now want to play music by running SqueezeLite as a service and using the soft power on/off options
So i can see ALSA
I can launch Squeezelite ok with:
But i cant for the life of my get the player to play a song, clicking play on the server interface just doesnt seem to work
But when i try and play a song, it wont play. Its roughly when i get this error
Is anyone able to give me any pointers?

I have thought of an idea. If the plugin works, if i SSH onto the kodi box and run a "ps" command, i will be able to see how the plugin is executing the sqeezelite app and which switches its using!

You don't need to SSH in to see the process via ps - the command XSqueeze uses to start the player is logged in your xbmd debug log....so just check it there & copy it...

Ignore! I got it working. few reboots double checked the settings for libreelec and swapped out my wifi dongle... not sure which of those it was!
Can't get it to connect to my server. It works on my other player (moode on RPi B 1) but not on libreelec on RPi 2B

I am running KODI on a raspberry pi with a sound card in form of an extension board. Kodi usually mutes the sound card after some seconds of silence and unmutes it when there is sound output again. I use the mute signal, which is present on one of the GPIOs, to switch on/off my amp, which is very convenient for power saving.
When I start XSqueeze, KODI does not automatically mute the sound card anymore when I "pause" the LMS. When I "switch off" the player in the web frontend, the sound card gets muted. Is there a way to mute the sound card some seconds after it is paused and unmute it once music resumes? (picoreplayer also behaves this way)

@skew there might be a command line switch for the player you're using (squeezelite is the default) - that you can add in XSqueeze settings to achieve this behaviour. Docs are here: https://github.com/ralph-irving/squeezelite

Read my signature....that said, I'd spend your time on the new addon as I don't even have this installed myself anymore and I can't see myself spending any real time on it given there is a newer alternative now.
