Had to set Audio Out to Optical / Coax to get 5.1

Something odd came up and I was wondering if anyone has experienced this. For a particular movie, setting Audio Out to HDMI resulted in stereo on the receiver. Once I set Output to Optical / Dig Coax, DD 5.1 showed up. Odd thing is, I only have HDMI connected tot he receiver. Any ideas why?

As of the dev who has implemented the audiostuff for iOS - the switch between HDMI and coax simply does nothing. It allways outputs audio on both.

Can this be changed in the future? So that the ATV2 puts audo out _only_ on optical? Thx for the Info

Not sure - nobody of the devs knows how i think. Apple doesn't document something like this Wink
