Failed to inialize audio device. Help Please..

Hi let me first try and explain my setup:

Living room (primary)
HTPC: Intel Sandy Bridge. XBMC Pre-Eden beta 2.
Receiver: Yamaha RX-V2067.
TV: Samsung PS51D8005.
Projector: Epson.

HTPC ---> HDMI out ----> RX-V2067 Receiver -----> HDMI out 1 -----> Samsung TV

When my receiver is turned off it just passes the HDMI through, but when I try to watch a 5.1 movie it gives me this error, when I select HDMI in audio settings in XBMC.
I have to select analog to get it working, but then I need to change back when watching a movie with receiver turned on to get digital surround.
If I have my Popcorn connected that way, I have no problem with this setup.

In my Playback devices in Windows it shows Samsung (intel Display audio default device) and in properties it shows RX-V2067.
I have read some posts about you could disable some sample rates, to get the error go away, but I can't uncheck anything in there.

Perhaps it's because XBMC is unable to perhaps downscale DTS/AC3 to stereo when the receiver is not turned on, or perhaps I'm missing something.

Is there any possibility to have this setup working the way I like to have, perhaps DSPlayer/MPC-HC can help or a tweak there will allow this?
