Is there any way to have XBMC to output two audio streams simultaneously? I'd like to use HDMI for my main zone and Optical for a secondary zone while watching a movie.

there was a dual audio patch version of dharma that i used. it will output two audio streams simultaneously.

Not until it hits final. The developer of that patch said he'd re-do it then. Search for a large thread with "patch dual audio" and you can follow along there.
