[eden] Opening files from windows explorer
#1
I love it that I can finally open files directly from windows explorer in xbmc eden. I'm using it a lot in a multimonitor setup. This does however, only work when xbmc is not already running. When xbmc is already running, opening a file from windows explorer only refocusses xbmc but does not playback the file. I've tested this on multiple machines, all running windows 7, with both beta2 and beta3.

Is this supposed to be normal behaviour or am I missing something?

This is the expected behaviour. Playback from Explorer works because when XBMC starts it plays any files provided as command line arguments. If XBMC is already running, when you double-click a file it starts a new copy of XBMC and that new copy just returns the focus to the already running copy and exits.

Would a feature request for this be taken in consideration?

I'm afraid it wouldn't be high on my list. XBMC isn't intended to be used as a media player in the same way that Windows Media Player is. Still, you might find a developer who thinks this is worth coding.
