[RELEASE] Nasa Videos, TV and Vodcasts plugin
#16
It does return a playable_url to XBMC and XBMC then starts playback.
have a look to your xbmc.log, you should see a line starting with "__generate_rtmp finished with url" followed by the URL.

Unfortunately, the stream fails to play when xbmc is in debug mode ( don't know why ) so viewing log is not possible.

When I watch the stream via the URL ( it's a Ustream ) in windows XP and right click it , it shows as a Adobe Flash Player.

I would assume then that its either .flv or vc-1.

If it's vc-1 then I would need the codec for the Raspberry PI as that is not included in the hardware without buying the codec key.

Nasa .... this is a nice add-on ..... love it

There MUST be people watching the ISS stream on the Raspberry PI. However as yet no-one has contributed to this thread with help or a solution.
I have resorted to using a Pagatron Cape 7 nettop running widows with XBMC and have temporarily placed the PI in the cupboard !

Lets hope someone posts something soon.

I wait in anticipation of being able to use the PI again.

Which stream did you try to play?
Also, a recent rtmplib (librtmp on linux) >=2.4 is needed to play ustream streams.

I've tried several Livestreams on different days, especially ISS-livestream – non worked. Now I tried again and ISS and JSC are working, but NASA Public and NASA TV educational for example not. Is this normal?
I use librtmp from the RTMPDump package of my distribution it's says it's version to be 20121203-1 – I don't know much about this… is this ok?

Big Grin
Just wanted to say thanks for this as I'm a big space fan and NASA TV isn't carried by my satellite provider. It's great to able to watch it on my TV. The ISS stream worked fine for me using my RPi and I watched the Dragon's trunk being unloaded today Smile

I just signed up to the forum to say a massive thanks for this - I love it
Works flawlessly - fantastic idea, thanks

On a side note, the icons appear to be very pixelated - am I the only one that notices this?
Using Aeon Nox thanks

Thanks.

The add-on shows the icons which are provided via the (ustream) API, yes they are very ugly. I will thing about other possibilities before the next update.

Is it just me or is everyone else only able to stream the Public channel and the ISS feed? All other streams get a script error

Hi I also have problems with some parts of the Nasa addon , for me the vodcast department is empty and in some the other folders i get scripterrors. I have had this problem for some months and have it on multiple installs and platforms. As I am no coder i would be very happy if you Sphere could have a peek on it please =)

Looks like ustream.tv isn't matching the uid.
