Random Crashes Apple TV 2
#1
I'm experiencing random crashes every time i watch something on the Apple TV via XBMC, the interval of the crashes is normally around 45 min into a video.
My details are as followed:
Apple TV 2 v.4.4.4
XBMC Eden beta 3

Debug log:
Recorded Crash 1 http://pastebin.com/A7vJySW7
Recorded Crash 2 http://pastebin.com/gAAFMk4Q

Syslog for today (17/02/2012)
sys from recorded crash 1 http://pastebin.com/7gUMXbqa
Before and after recorded crash 2 http://pastebin.com/UDGZQDi0

I suspect a problem with AFP. But im not sure.

Thanks fot any help.

As of the xbmc.log it looks like an afp problem (no luck for you then - you might be one of the 50% of users where afp doesn't work).

As of the crashlog which is embedded in your syslog (i suspect your crashlog folder is full - thats why it appears in the syslog) - it looks like a crash in the h264 hardware decoder. Please post a mediainfo of that file you tried to play.

Beside that try with another network protocol for ruling afp out (e.x. nfs, ftp or smb if possible).

It was an .mkv file that i was playing. However this seems to occur even with other files.

I will try with another protocol and let you know how it went. However i have problems with smb and osx lion, as highlighted by other users in several post on the forum. I will try to figure something out.

Do you have any suggestions to what kind of network protocol i should use with a iMac, with osx lion. Or is it a case of downgrading back to snow leopard.
This might be an unrelated question to this thread if so i apologize and i will post where it is a valid question.

Thanks for the help.

Cool, I tried with smb again, failed as I thought. I will now go for NFS as you say, seems more stable.

Thanks again.
