AMD E-450 and Linux (ACER RL70)
#1
Hello. I'm stuck between the Acer R3700 (ATOM/ION) and Acer RL70 (AMD) nettops. At first I would like to install W7 on it so the RL70 seems like the obvious choice for me, since E-450 > ATOM and AMD HD 6320 > ION 2 (at least from what I've read). Also the RL70 comes with DDR3-1333 compared with the r3700's DDR3-800 ram.

However, there is a chance that I will be using XBMC live eventually. I know that linux + AMD is not ideal, but has anyone had personal experience with either E-350 or E-450 and XBMC live?

Thanks in advace

I don't have any experience with XBMC live but I do have the RL70 running W7 and XBMC. The RL70 handles XBMC great. I also use MPC for my 1080p blu-ray rips with HD audio bitstreaming and it handles that excellent too. Wish I could tell you how well XBMC live runs but I haven't had any need to try it out since it's having no probs with W7 and XBMC.

I am also stuck with this so hope someone can help

The rl70 seems a better choice and can be found cheaper but I would like a dual boot of win7 and xbmcbuntu.

Is this easily achievable (noob alert) ??

Sure I remember something about AMD problems??

Theres also this to confuse me more!
