rename "regex-rule" files
#1
XBMC Live 10.1

I used the {rename "regex-rule" files} command to rename a season of one of my shows. I had an error in my "regex-rule" and renamed all of them to . all of the files have disappeared. Luckily I have a backup and re-copied the files back and fixed my regex error.

My question is for the files that got renamed to . Are they still taking up space on the HDD or did they get renamed into oblivion? The whole season is a sizable amount and I don't want the space wasted.

they don't show up on a {ls -lha} command so I'm thinking they got nuked.

Thank you

If I understand correctly, they are still very much there. In Unix any file starting with a dot is hidden. ls -a
