asrock z68m-itx/ht - possible HBR audio under Linux in XBMC?
#1
Hi,

In manual from this motheboard I found this information:

Quote:Under Grpahics:

Supports Auto Lip Sync, xvYCC and HBR (High Bit Rate
Audio) with HDMI (Compliant HDMI monitor is required)

(see CAUTION 6)

CAUTION!

6. xvYCC is only supported under Windows® 7 64-bit / 7. HBR is supported
under Windows® 7 64-bit / 7 / VistaTM 64-bit / VistaTM.

Is possible to run HBR audio under Linux? Maybe someone found any solution for this?

Hi !

Currently you need a little workaround to enable HBR audio on Intel Sandy Bridge chipsets. Check out point 4. at my guide.

If you don't want the workaround, install Linux Kenrel 3.3 release candidate. Which has support for automatic EDID parsing of audio modes capability.

To actually use HBR audio modes. You can do it in xbmc with multichannel LPCM only. For streaming of DTS-Master and Dolby HBR formats, you might want to try the experimental Audio Engine "branch" developed by Gnif.
Always read the XBMC online-manual, FAQ and search the forum before posting.
Do not e-mail XBMC-Team members directly asking for support. Read/follow the forum rules.
For troubleshooting and bug reporting please make sure you read this first.
