Audio issue HDMI and Optical
#1
I have an audio issue that seems to have just started on my ATV2.
Audio output to my receiver via optical or to my TV via HDMI is now making a "staticy machine gun (rapid machine gun like noise that sounds like static)" .
Was working fine up until today. Have tried just hdmi to tv without receiver...same noise and have tried just optical cable to the receiver (unplugged hdmi from tv with just optical into receiver) and same noise.
SD audio out when selected works fine, Any ideas?

set audio to 16bit in the atv2 settings (i mean outside from xbmc...)

Done, works now.
I guess the one factor I left out was I plugged it into a different tv, one that only supports 16bit obviously.
I'm a little unclear as to why if I have optical out to my receiver directly from the Atv2 why this would happen, seems that changing tv should have no effect...is there some sort of feedback loop or something?
bizarre, thanks for your solution, appreciated
