Movies in .rar no longer detected?

You can always build yourself if you want to be sure of getting rar support in. It's pretty simple - see README.* and away you go.

yea I did try but at the moment my xbmc install is on a little 4gb flash drive and there wasn't enough room, but now that I know for sure that it was just disabled I may sort something out thanks.

XBMCbuntu works just fine with RAR support in the meantime, as will XBMC installed from the PPA.

Once libarchive has seek support for uncompressed rar's XBMC will support them direct from the official Debian repositories as well.

My main reason for using xbmc was the rar-support.

*sigh*

Hope we can get a fix with the libarchive soon.
Or is there a ppa (nightly) that have this function enabled?
