I only can find instructions for the previous version 10?

This will always install the latest release. Right now that is RC2.

I thought that way it install only "stable" version and not RC's

I guess it covers rc and final releases, but not beta or nightly ones. If it has been announced on the front page of xbmc.org as available, then it should be downloadable through this method as this is the official release channel for the appletv2.

I like to do it right the first time because i Dont how to uninstall an old or wrong version on the Apple TV.

You are way overthinking it. Go to the wiki page quoted earlier and follow the instructions under "Updating." That's all you need to do. It's fine.

I just updated mine. I, however, did not use the wiki instructions.

Im running 4.1.1 which has been jailbroken about a year but when I try to install this update I get this message just after it's downloaded:

"E: Couldn't configure pre-depend dpkg for grep, probably a dependency cycle."

It also comes up earlier in the installation process with:

"W: Encountered a section with no Package: header
W: Encountered a section with no Package: header
W: You may want to run apt-get update to correct these problems"

What gives?

Ah I managed to fix i by re-jailbreaking the AppleTV

run the command as it says

apt-get update

that "should" correct the problems.

Then run apt-get upgrade after, that should install all available upgrades.

if not you could try to update from Nitotv by selecting update all at the bottom of the Nitotv list (if you have it installed) that will update all your dependencies, it will inform up at the top of the pop up box when it has finished successfully then go to xbmc (in the same list, on this screen it will give you the version number you are about to install, click install.

This is an easier way to install the most up to date version if you dont like using command line.

i've always updated thru SSH and apt-get update but for whatever reason now its just updated me to beta 3 but not to RC2?
