I rearranged the house a bit today and had my router shut off for a while. When I got it plugged in again, my IP changed. I went into the Files section of XBMC on my atv2 and edited the shares (SMB) to account for the IP address changes.
I could then access my external drive but I could not figure out how to get movies and tv shows to play. I kept getting "file not found". I tried "update library" and a couple of other things before I got the bright idea to try the clean library command. That cleaned everything out and I was left with a blank slate. So, I had to go and re-set the content type for my shares and create new libraries. That's just a time issue for the movies but I lost the watched|unwatched date for tv.
I know this will happen again (power will go out, etc.) What should I have done?
