Not sure if this is related to the engine or card capabilities, but when playing a BDMV with DTS-HD / Master Audio or Dolby TrueHD, frame rate drops to 1-2. AAC channel in the same video play smooth.
Running Ion with latest nvidia drivers via HDMI.

All - I'm struggling with stuttering video and delayed audio in the WASAPI output mode, but probably only with playback of DVDs.
PAL/NTSC DVDs are by nature software decoded in xbmc (because of the menus) and usually have DD or DTS audio. I'm getting heavy stutter unless I switch to double framerate (forcing deinterlacing) and in addition I have a sound delay of about 175 ms. Any thoughts?
I'm running xbmc on Win 7 64bit, AMD E-450 APU (ZBOX AD04), 4 GB of RAM. Everything HD or even hardware decoded SD (like mp4 divx etc.) seems to do fine. I'm using Catalyst 12.6 and have every video "enhancement" disabled. Also, on my workstation (Core i7 / nVidia GT240) this issue does not occur...

Ok, I'm having a problem myself now. When I select WASAPI: My amp as audio output, it will lockup. Same device is set as passthrough. When I select DS: My amp, things are fine. Debug log is 1MB, where can I put that? Excerpt looks like this:

I'm seeing the stuttering issue as well (actually, the codec info shows a very low framerate of 3-18fps) and I don't have Realtek/AMD in my machine. I have an NVIDIA G210 + VIA onboard optical out. My old receiver is only capable of AC3 decoding, so everything else is unchecked. When I watch a movie with Dolby Digital, I don't notice any immediate issues, but when I view a movie with DTS or any other codec that needs to be re-encoded as AC3, it starts stuttering like crazy. It's made even worse if I have "Boost volume level on downmix" enabled and "Output stereo to all speakers." If I disable AC3 capable and leave it to pass stereo LPCM then there doesn't appear to be any stuttering. These same videos work fine on Eden.

Hi all,
I am a pretty new member here, and I have some feedback on my experience with the nightly build especially with AudioEngine.
I have a 55" Samsung 3D TV connected via HDMI 1.4 with an ARC to a Samsung HT-D5300 3D Home Theater.
Pre XMBC:
I had an Xtreamer Ultra that had the NVIDIA ION, and at one point I had full HD Bitstreaming working after I had created EDID override for the TV, mounting the 3dbd.iso, and playing the movie through WinDVD11.
Post XMBC-AE:
I bought the Xtreamer Ultra 2 using the NVIDIA GTX 520M, and set it up the same by creating the EDID override for the TV, mounting the bd.iso, and playing the movie though WinDVD11. It plays FLAWLESSLY in full HD.
After installing the Nightly last night, and messed around with the settings, I get no sound when I have DTS-HD (or DTS core), nor when I have TrueHD selected. If I play through LPCM, I only get 2 channels regardless, (Playing 8 channel LPCM might be an issue with the TV not sending the other LPCM channels to my receiver.) These are setup using the WASAPI: Nvidia HDMI.
The ONLY thing I got "working" was Dolby (AC3), but the playback was somewhat sluggish, and dropped frames, compared to having DTS or LPCM selected. I am assuming that XBMC is reencoding to AC3 and is requiring more system resources than what the Xtreamer can do natively.
I did try PowerDVD12, and it was awful at playing a 3DBD.iso. It was severely dropping frames in either right or left eye, but it did play DTS-HD.
WinDVD11 did the same 3DBD.iso perfectly with no dropped frames and full DTS-HD.
Anyway, I don't know how differently AE is set up internally than WinDVD, but WinDVD works where I cannot get AE to work in either DTS-HD or TrueHD. Let me know if there is a "setting" that I should try that could force the bitstreaming to pass the untouched HD audio.
Thanks,
Wade
