I'm sorry, but no. The older versions were causing significant problems for both musicbrainz and theaudiodb. The code in 2.0 fixes that, and I don't want older versions out there continuing to cause problems. I understand that this means that streaming music mostly won't get Fanart.tv downloads, but you can still get images from theaudiodb (and htbackdrops if it ever comes back up). If in the future fanart.tv adds the ability via the API to search using artist name, then I will add that to Artist Slideshow.

It looks like htbackdrops is back up but with only a few images at this stage

Hello.

When i hear radio, i can sometimes see etremly shortly a picture from the artist.
Thats what i see at the kodi.log:

13:38:56 466.905121 T:1458566128 NOTICE: [Artist Slideshow] script version 2.0.2 started
13:38:56 466.905304 T:1458566128 NOTICE: [Artist Slideshow] debug logging set to true
13:38:56 466.905853 T:1458566128 NOTICE: [Artist Slideshow] script stopped

With the Inetrnet-Stream from RadioParadise all works fine.

It seems so, that there is searching for SWR3 ( Thats the radio-channel ). Is there option, which can be set, that the script is looking for another string ?

In the US at least, very few radio stations use the RDS system to display anything, and of those that do even fewer provide the song information. Most just send then call letters. It might be different in your country, but it looks like in this case the station is using RDS to just send the call letters. AS is completely dependent on what is sent by the streaming service or radio station in the title field. So if that Radio station only provides its call letters in the stream, then there is unfortunately nothing to be done about that.

OK Thanks ... thanks for your nice work !

Why only 02 images are downloaded? Before AS can download more artists images?
Same issue when using fanart api key?

AS doesn't restrict the number of images downloaded from any given service. I know the fanart.tv folks were talking about restrictions based on whether you use a personal API key (AS supports the fanart.tv personal API key in the settings) or not and what level of subscription you have, but I didn't see anything on their site indicating they've actually rolled that out.

I'd need to see a debug log that has both Kodi and AS debugging enabled to troubleshoot with you any further.

It looks like your music files don't have the MusicBrainz ID in them, or at least they didn't get scraped into Kodi. Please see:

http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=...pid2381463

For an explanation of the changes in 2.0 that mean you have to have that to get images from fanart.tv. I think the two images you are seeing are from theaudiodb.com.

Please your assistance regarding below instructions:
"The only alternative is to go to those empty directories and create a mbid.nfo file. In that file you would put the MBID from the MusicBrainz site. With that AS can download from the other two image services"
1/Which directories?
2/How to create MBID.nfo file
3/How to put the MBID from the MusicBrainz
Reply
you can tag your mp3 files with picard and store the MBid in the tag
https://picard.musicbrainz.org/
kodi will add them to the db and AS will use it for fanart.tv

One quick clarification, the file name would need to be musicbrainz.nfo. If you go to your addon_data folder and find scripts.artistslideshow, there's a directory in there called Artist Information. In that will be a bunch of hashed folder names that correspond to artists. That's where the musicbrainz.nfo file would have to go. You'd probably need to install Artist Slideshow Helper (available from the main Kodi repo) to get a list of the artist names and their hash folder name. Then you have to go find them on musicbrainz.org, copy that ID from the URL, and paste into the file for each artist.

Honestly, this will be a much easier plan. The only thing you have to do after you run all your music through that is rescan your music library.

For some reason AS will not seem to fetch images for artists that I recently added. It will still show the art for the artists that I have had in my playlist for awhile. I use the Tidal plugin for my music if that matters.
