Hi

I have trouble playing movie files through FTP that contains characters from my language for example "þæöð.. etc" (Icelandic). The movies show up in the directory okey, but when i select them nothing happens, soon as i rename the file and the take out these characters everything is working.
I thought these characters where allowed through ftp.

Any ideas??

I cant find settings under the FTP service tap to change character tap in freenas 8

There may be a good reason for this; however, if you are using Freenas why not create an smb or nfs share for xbmc? As I understand it FTP isn't the best protocol for streaming and it sounds like you have enough control over the system that you could use another method.

Just a thought.
