Tv episodes help
#1
I've only been a user of xbmc for a month and loving it but i've run into a problem setting up a tv series. I've got a few series running fine but its season 1 of mr. bean i can get set up. I've used ember media manager and all the images are all setup but none of the episodes will show up only a episode that i don't even have. Any ideas.

No files here only the episode that i don't have plus there was only season 1.

Have a look at this http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Add...s/TV_shows. Your file naming is what is giving you the problems. You should have something like this setup

TV Shows
Mr. Bean (This will be you TV Episode folder)
Season 1 (This will be your season folder, each season will have its own)
S01E01 (this is a file naming format that XBMC will use)
S01E02
S01E03
and so on

For example your file name of 08 - Mr. Bean in room 426 will not work because XBMC doesn't know what the correct season or episode is. It thinks it is season episode 26 from the 426 at the end of the name.

For specials you will need to number them like they are on the TVDB website under the special season. The correct setup will be to put them in a folder called Season 0 under the tv show they belong to and label them S00E01, just change the episode number as needed.

Thanks for that my friend, i have them all picked up in my tv menu. The only thing i don't like is for some reason the specials and normal eps show up in the same list and not in season 0 and season 1 folders in the tv menu. Any reason why?

I think this has something to do with "Flatten" that is located in the video settings. If you uncheck this, I think you'll get your seasons back.

specials doesnt really count as a season so if your show only has one season + specials, the default flatten single-season shows code kicks in.

It goes like this:

1 Mr. Bean 1990-01-01
2 The Return of Mr. Bean 1990-11-05
Special The Library 1990-11-05
3 The Curse of Mr. Bean 1990-12-30
Special Mr. Bean's Red Nose Day 1991-03-15
4 Mr. Bean Goes to Town 1991-10-15
Special The Bus Stop 1991-11-15
5 The Trouble with Mr. Bean 1992-01-01
6 Mr. Bean Rides Again 1992-02-17
Special I Want To Be Elected 1992-04-17
7 Merry Christmas Mr. Bean 1992-12-25
8 Mr. Bean in Room 426 1993-02-17
Special Blind Date 1993-03-12
9 Do-It-Yourself Mr. Bean 1994-01-10
10 Mind the Baby, Mr. bean 1994-04-25
11 Back To School Mr. Bean 1994-10-26
Special Torvill and Bean 1995-03-17
12 Tee Off, Mr. Bean 1995-09-20
13 Goodnight Mr. Bean 1995-10-31
14 Hair by Mr. Bean of London 1995-11-15
Special Mr. Bean's Wedding 2007-03-16
Special The Best Bits Of Mr. Bean 1997-03-25
Special The Story Of Mr. Bean 1997-07-31

So name the folder Mr. Bean and in the folder name the Episodes,
and sort them out like this 1x01, 1x02, 1x03. THIS METHOD IS BETTER THEN S01E01 etc.
It works for every series in XBMC

That's a matter of opinion which may or may not be true. I have over 7000 episodes on XBMC all named Show.Name.s01e01 and I've never had one problem with my folders.

yeah that may be true, but i find i get better consistency with the method i use. I've go around the 13,000 mark in Episode count and as far as i can tell all have been successfully scraped To XBMC and when using the E01S01 method i have a couple of dropped episodes here and there.
