Otixo WebDAV access anyone?
#1
Hi all,
I was told of Otixo today, a free service to access all your cloud storage from one place.

They offer WebDAV and it works on mac, pc, iPad no problem, but I can not get it to connect from appletv2 - I have tried setting up in the same way by adding the account as a video source, but can not access it.

Can anyone more qualified than me have a go, and if successful post a quick how-to for us?

Cheers, and happy New iPad Day everyone Wink

I use iozeta livedrive and they offer the WEbdav too. lately been having issues but i had to go into add video source then add network connection.
Even though iozeta offers webdav via http and https the http doesnt seem to work on the ATV2.

Your saying you cant access it can you give more specifics? I can walk you through setting it up no problem since i have done it with iozeta so other then the settings the basics will be the same.
What have you tried so far?

Hay man, that's good of you, thanks - I have tried setting it up using add video source and then add connection, same as you said, but the address for their WebDAV is https://dav.otixo.com but in atv if you choose secure WebDAV it prefixes with davs:// and using https does not work either - any idea how I can remove the prefix given by WebDAV so it is simply the right network address?
It seems the guides other than what is written in there app have a different address, https://app.otixo.com/webdav is not right, https://dav.otixo.com is what is written in their guide once you're logged in, and is what works on my mac and iPad.
Thanks a lot for your help

I don't think webdav is working on the atv2:

I'd recommend CloudDav from SMEStorage. SMEStorage provides federation of over 35 cloud services and I've been using it for around 3 years now. Their CloudDav service is $5 for unlimited lifetime use (compared to $9.95 per month from Otixo) and it supports many more Clouds.

webDAV does work on the ATV2. You can always check to see if an issue is platform specific by checking against a desktop install of XBMC.

Thanks guys - paulridden, any idea then how I would set up clouddav on atv given the issues with the address of the WebDAV address - Server Address: https://webdav.smestorage.com

Hay Ned, thanks for your suggestion too but I don't run a desktop version of xbmc... I don't doubt for a minute that WebDAV works, it just strikes me that the URL format is the issue as for clouddav or otixo do not have a davs:// address for their WebDAV - anyone any idea at all what to do about this? Thanks all for your help.
