I have XBMC-Live 10 installed. System runs fine, but when a movie is finished and i press stop to go back to the main screen, i see the main screen appearing, but blank. No icons and the system is non responsive. My android remote tells me the connection is lost. But i can connect with SSH. When i look at the processes (top) i see the xbmc.bin process running with 100% CPU. When i reboot the machine CPU is running normal again (7 / 8 %). But when a movie or someting is started and stopped, it is hanging again.

Is there anybody who knows what i can do?

I had the same problem as you (XBMCbuntu freak). It happend randomly on my system, stopping a movie or when a movie finished. I have a Zotac with AMD Radeon 6310. My solution was to install the latest ati driver from amd.com. I you have a nvidia graphic card I would try to upgrade the drivers or downgrade it.

This is how I installed and configured the ati driver:

sudo sh amd-driver-installer-12-1-x86.x86_64.run --buildandinstallpkg
sudo aticonfig --initial -f
sudo aticonfig --sync-vsync=on
sudo aticonfig --set-pcs-val=MCIL,DigitalHDTVDefaultUnderscan,0
