newb stuck installing xbmc live over xubuntu
#1
mistakenly installed xubuntu instead of xbmc live from flash drive. now i am attempting to install xbmc live over it. Install starts and gets to "Partition Disks" with options
configure iscsi volumes

undo changes to partitions
finish partitioning and write changes to disk

not having any success. would i be better off starting from scratch?

Also, sometimes gets stuck at mounting optical drive, which i don't have, other times it gets past that

help would be much appreciated, i'm sure ill have more questions

If there error you're getting in regards to the optical drive is:
"An attempt to configure apt to install additional packages from the CD failed."
The solution I found that solves the problem is to run the following command: sudo rm /usr/lib/ubiquity/apt-setup/generators/40cdrom

If you're starting out, you'll probably not want iSCSI. iSCSI is SCSI over IP. The other thing is to test the memory in the machine. I had a goofy problem where the wrong type of memory would hang the machine while formatting disks.
