How to add Videos using the disk metadata?
#1
Hello,

I have a directory with Movies with the right structure for XMBC. I add this directory and set the scrapper to FilmAffinity. The movie is not recognnized and I need to update it manually using Movie Information > Refresh". OK, until now all is OK.

Now, I export the library to individual files so I have the following content:

Movies\
Movies\Movie
Movie (2008)-fanart.jpg
Movie (2008).avi
Movie (2008).nfo
Movie (2008).srt
Movie (2008).tbn

After that I do a clean installation of XBMC and define a new video source for this directory, set again the scrapper and when XBMC updates the library it downloads again the wrong information for the movie instead of using the local files with the right information.

Is it possible to use the local information when available instead of redownload the wrong info?

Thanks.

Make sure you enable "Movies in separate folders named after the movie".
Always read the XBMC online-manual, FAQ and search the forum before posting.
Do not e-mail XBMC-Team members directly asking for support. Read/follow the forum rules.
For troubleshooting and bug reporting please make sure you read this first.

Hi jmarshall,

Thanks for the answer. I'll try it. I've googled for this setting (basically becuase I didn't know where it was) and found your explanation for this very confusing setting ;-)
