fan speed on acer r3610 in xbmcbuntu 11.0

Anybody managed to get lm-sensors to show the fan speed in the new ubuntu eden? Modprobing coretemp and it87 in etc/modules and are using the acpi-enforce-resources=lax as a boot up parameter which worked in ubuntu lucid.

But in ubuntu eden i only get:

acpitz-virtual-0
Adapter: Virtual device
temp1: +66.0°C (crit = +127.0°C)

coretemp-isa-0000
Adapter: ISA adapter
Core 0: +50.0°C (high = +70.0°C, crit = +90.0°C)
Core 1: +53.0°C (high = +70.0°C, crit = +90.0°C)

And i need the fan-speed to control the fan via fancontrol to keep the noise down Big Grin

Add acpi_enforce_resources=lax or acpi=off in /boot/grub/grub.cfg still works didn't know that i did wrong that the first time

Hello Calebdk,

I am going to upgrade (fresh install) to xbmcbuntu 11.0 from Dharma but I am not sure how to tweak the fan speed for it.
I'm kind of a Linux noob but I managed to figure it out for Dharma but since then forgotten how I did it.

Would you be so kind to write a step by step how to get it to work in Xbmcbuntu 11.0? I don't want to end up with a noisy r3610 again Smile

Thanks!
