Yeah. It works for me as well. Thanks.

Besides, I found the add-on 'XBMC Mixer' or some name else will write some code in my .asoundrc file, which made XMBC unstable.

Everything back to work when I delete those lines in .asoundrc file.

Same problem here.. deleting asoundrc got XBMC working without crashes, but still no sound.
Any simpeler way then a fresh install to get the HDMI working in Alsa?

I've created a new livecd with some fixes: http://xbmcfreak.binkey.nl/xbmcfreak-11.0-v5.zip

Could any of you please give this a try and let me know the results?

I noticed this:

/home/xbmc/.asoundrc may be old or corrupted: consider to remove or fix it\nALSA lib conf

and my fix has been:

Code:
cd /home/xbmc
cp .asoundrc .asoundrc_bck
rm .asoundrc
sudo reboot

My system works well now.

Thanks very much! Tried three different versions of Eden and multiple fresh installs and had same problem every time. This so far seems to be working for me though. Thanks again!

Assuming this is the same v5 link as on the xbmcfreak site then the problem was still occurring on my Revo 3610 when I tried it.

Thx Gopher this one did it for me. Eden isn't really playing nice with my hardware. I also had a lot of problems with the drivers for my ethernet chip.

I fixed the problem by going to the command line (alt-ctrl-f2) then type 'rm .asoundrc' to remove the config file for the sound. You should be able to playback movies now, but you get a sound error. Then I just reconfigured audio input in the settings and it works again. I do have to say that I have simple analog 2.0 audio.
