Media stops responding after watching 2-3 strm files
#1
I'm running XBMCbuntu Beta 3 and I've updated to RC2 through apt-get, however I've run into this problem often over the past year as I tried different versions of XBMC. I have run into a really frustrating problem where certain types of media (80% of my library really) will stop responding completely after the HTPC has been on for a little while (which I will refer to from this point on as the 'hump').

From what I can tell, it's affecting every piece of media in my library (Music and Video, networked or local) except for Hulu .strm files generated by that plugin. Those literally always work for some reason. Icelibrary .strm files, however, are affected in the same way as the other media. Even playing videos from a plugin like Giant Bomb or Aljazeera is affected.

After my HTPC hits this hump, selecting any of the mentioned media simply produces no result. The selection sounds play, but nothing happens at all. Plugins spit out script errors. Occasionally I'll get the "An item failed to play" popup. Icelibrary streams will initialize but spit out a script error in under a second.

AEverything spits out the same hilariously vague error, which I have isolated below:

http://pastebin.com/uz8HD1TT
Code:
10:36:07 T:2798644080   ERROR: Open - Unhandled exception
10:36:07 T:2798644080   ERROR: Open - Error opening http://s09.real-debrid.com/dl/c4b4v294t20343136739/Community.S03E11.HDTV.XviD-2HD.avi
10:36:07 T:2798644080   ERROR: CDVDPlayer::OpenInputStream - error opening [http://s09.real-debrid.com/dl/c4b4v294t20343136739/Community.S03E11.HDTV.XviD-2HD.avi]

I have no frigging clue what is setting off this error. As I mentioned, if I reboot the HTPC, everything plays fine - until I hit the hump again.

The only way I have found to reproduce this problem on the spot is with Icelibrary. If I boot up my HTPC fresh, everything works and I'll be able to watch 1-2 Icelibrary streams. After the secoond stream, I'm back in error land. Using other plugins/other media does not seem to set this problem off as often as Icelibrary does.

I'm at such a loss on what do do next. Anyone have any ideas?? What could possibly be causing my media playing ability to just drop out like this? Please help!

Here's a full log from a fresh reboot, where I watch one episode of Gold Rush successfully via Icelibrary, and then all my media stops responding again. Check out the bottom where I try some more TV episodes, some MP3s, and some videos from the Giant Bomb plugin. Normally, all of these things would be playing just fine.

I'd update to 11.0 final just in case. Also, just to clarify you're having this problem with local media too right? It's just easier to trigger in Icelibrary. I just want to clarify as this is not the place to discuss Icelibrary itself, but the problem you're seeing needs to be sorted out here.

I actually JUST noticed that final came out, so I'm working on that now Smile

And yeah, this does also occur with local media. My music files are actually on Networked storage right now but rest assured I've tested the situation with a local hard drive full of music and it's still the same.

IceLibrary is just the only way I've come up with so far to reproduce the problem, and is not necessary for the discussion. It'll still happen if Icefilms/Icelibrary is uninstalled completely, it just takes longer and happens at more random times.

Plus like I mentioned, even streams from Giant Bomb and AlJazeera are broken.
