So my queston is the following: Can the iPhone 4S be used to play rar files?
I'm able to do so on my comp but not on the 4S. Could it be because of I use a UPnP server to stream content to my 4S?
Thanks!

Before we get to that point.... why are you keeping them in .rar files? I know we support it... but dear god, why? It doesn't save any space.

I happen to be a member of a private torrent tracker to dl legal hd movies. You have to seed as much as you download. Therefore you have to keep the torrent files as they are. If I dl a 14gb movie extracting and keeping the rar files chews a nice bit of my hdd space. As a conclusion i prefer to use the rar files.

If it's not a compressed rar then itshould work. It may or may not be the UPnP server on your computer, so to rule it out just try another sharing protocol like
SMB (wiki),
NFS (wiki),
FTP (wiki), etc.
