Xbmcbuntu - bootmgr missing - Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart
#1
Hey All,

If i try to boot with xbmcbuntu (The new xbmclive) i get the error that bootmgr is missing - press ctrl+alt+del to reboot.

Eveyrthing ive read says i need to run startup repair - well i did that - it finds no errors , windows does boot fine if i dont try xbmcbuntu , however i really want to toy around with it and im confused as to why it wont boot.

Anyone have any ideas?
I can boot cd's / Windows on a usb key - or the windows i have installed without problems.

Problem is that its a netbook and it wont run xbmc properly with windows so id like to try it without the OS.

Thank in advance!

Btw - downloaded buntu from : http://xbmc.org/download/ and i used the guide on wiki - by using unetbootin to put the iso on the usb key after formatting it

I tried all the steps here : http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2622803
option 1 fnds no errors - option 2 from dos prompt did go through and said successful , yet still i cant boot xbmcbuntu

Sounds like unetbutin has not created the usb image from the iso file correctly. I would do a full format of the usb stick put the iso image on it again. The re-try. If fails try a different usb stick. Of that failstry using unetbootin on a different computer.

Also make sure it is the usb stick that the bios is trying to boot from.

It was in NTFS though , i suppose ill try FAT32 , would this actually matter?

Thanks!
