I record a lot of HD movies on the Sat and DTT (terrestrial, dvb-t, euro).

The .Ts videos from the Sat seem to be played just fine whereas the ones from the DTT don't, i'd like to understand why.


Both are full HD the only factor changing is the audio stream

Sat= dolby digital (Ac3)
DTT= dolby digital plus( E-ac3) OR mpeg audio depending

symptoms: images are freezing, mosaic

There are some issues with EAC3 decoding - are you on Windows? Vista or newer? You can try this build (it also bitstreams DTS-MA/TureHD if you have the right hardware). Some changes where made to EAC3 decoding in it which "hacks" a known issue. No guarentees but it might work for your DTT captures.

they work ok with dvbviewer (which is the soft i have recorded with) codecs arcsoft or core avc;, audio decoder ffdshow
