Help with NAS
#1
Just picked up a NAS for my Windows7-based HTPC - it's the 2-bay DNS-325.

I've never set up a network share before and it appears to offer two main sharing protocols: SMB/CIFS and NFS. SMB/CIFS is enabled by default and you can then switch on NFS if you like.

Which offers the best performance for reading media by XBMC in a Windows7 box, please?

SMB/CIFS are the default sharing protocols used behind the scenes in Windows file sharing.
