A6-PACK ☆ ISK 300-90 picoPSU HTPC A6-3500 Very Silent!
No problem. eskro do you think Scythe Shuriken Rev.B will work with the new apu coming out
Reply
hard to say, but SCYTHE usually makes sure that their coolers fit on new CPU's so,
if they dont by default, they'll update it or release brackets and stuff to make it fit.

That's good to know cause so far i have bought the cpu cooler and case and thinking if i should wait till may 15th and try out the A8-5500 or a10 5700 if the price is right plus there both 65watts

Any problem in Playing 10 or more Gb 1080p mkv? Where did you store your movies?
Reply
The only reason i was saying that eskro was because i have been using my laptop as a htpc for playing back movies. I had a hsbs mkv file that is 18gb and it plays and all but when i forward or skip the movie it freezes for about 20mins to 30mins then plays again and that's from an external hard drive with a P8400, 2.26 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, NVIDIA GeForce 9400M 256 MB, 4GB 1067 MHz DDR3 and am thinking will the a6 3500m do the same thing ?

I've thrown bigger mkv files than that at mine, stored on a server connected by Gigabit ethernet - no problems at all. Not at home so can't check exact size of my largest movie but know I have one that is at least 40GB.

Hope this helps Smile

Well you can try..... they make many copies..... they one I have it's the original one so it works and does not loose connection..... Eskro had a fake one too and he hated it..... until he found the real thing and tested and wala it works..... then I bought it because it finally worked,,,,,

So you can try,,,, that one and see if it works...... Smile it's not too expensive if it does not...

via USB2.0 speeds,
a file of ~15GB and less should play Flawlessly...

more then ~15GB can result in stuttering via USB2.0 ,,,

best to use eSATA or USB3.0

Sorry, but it is not true.... most of my 1:1 rip blu-ray files are 30GB plus and some are 40GB plus (Avatar, Car2, etc) are stores in USB 2.0 drives (USB power), and it can playback flawless......

i said it can result and not it will result.

thats 2 different things!!

Please note that USB2 lacks the speeds needed
for playing Full unCompressed 1080P movies!!

As long as the 1080P movie is 15GB's or less, it should play fine from USB2.

That's a blake comment then....anything can result in stuttering.....Tongue

In my experiences, I own two USB 2.0 drives and two USB 3.0 drives......I tried so many movies (30GB/40GB plus) on both drives, it works the same way on both versions everytime......15GB movie should be a piece of cake....
