A6-PACK ☆ ISK 300-90 picoPSU HTPC A6-3500 Very Silent!
(2012-10-14, 08:27)g8m3r Wrote: Thanks bluray. Will this card fit easily into Antec ISK 300-65?
Yes, your case included one LP slot. It should fit the LP AMD HD6670 card. The guy below fitted a SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 6670 card in it. If you can spend a little more money, I'm suggesting this "SAPPHIRE 100357LP Radeon HD 7750". You'll have better performance and lower TDP- Radeon HD 6670 (OEM) vs Radeon HD 7750....

It is a massive dual slots card. For sure, it'll not fit in 300-65 case.....

Good find bluray! Oh yah it is a massive dual slot.... of course it won't fit the 300-65 case ....

Now he can get the 6670 and do dual graphics with his A6-3500 chip.... wonder if that will match the performance of something like the 7750 you mentioned or close to it...

Now we may deal with a more powerful psu.... if you have a pico 90w I don't think it will cut it.

Crossfire HD6530d and HD6670 can't match with HD7750.....

He'll need this- Premium picoPSU-160-XT/16A 192W AC-DC

I just ordered a SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 6670 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready Low Profile Video Card (100326LP ) to try with an A8-3800 and A6-3500 to test the power consumption, performance and how it runs in the Realan E-I7 mini-ITX HTPC / desktop computer case with a new 180W powerboard / 192W AC adapter I ordered. I am hoping this wil take the A6-PACK to a Steamed A6-PACK Smile. I will report my findings.

Are you planning to use your A8 and A6 for game? If not, there is no need to generate extra heat and consume more power with a discrete GPU in the case....

The intent is to test building a gaming HTPC and Crossfire with the two different APUs in the E-i7 case. I've received a lot of interesting in gaming HTPCs lately, especially for Steam Big Picture. I already have everything but the card. I'll also test with G530 and i3-2120T since I have those in stock as well. Then I can report on how it all works out. I'll get to learn a lot about gaming too. And. test the 180W power supply for the E-i7.

Sounds good Dougie.... I would love to know the results.

But I have read that for gaming a g530 or a g620 plus a nice GPU is awesome for a gaming machine.

It's great that you will be testing on SFF...

on Steam there is a game called... Blacklight: Retribution it's free to play... I could not play this game on my A6-3500 even with all settings on low I only got like 10 FPS or so and it was not playable....

Maybe you can test this game out....

Team Fortress 2 is another game that is free and yes the A6-3500 on 1080p is playable well with a good 40-50FPS... and about 60-70FPS on 720p

You can try both games....

Thanks for the recommendations. If anyone has any others they'd like to see tried with any of the CPU/GPU combinations I can give it a try. I don't know how soon I will be able to do it but I want to at least get some preliminary work done ASAP.

HD6670 by itself is almost as good as HD6530d+HD6670.....

If it is for some games, I preferred the G530+HD6670 over the A6+HD6670....it'll consume less power and generate less heat too...

To me, the best LP single slot discrete GPU for Mini-ITX case is this- SAPPHIRE 100357LP Radeon HD 7750 ....

So there is no way any of these cards will run on the 90w picoPSU?

An Intel Celeron/Pentium + HD5450 might run on a picoPSU 90. A HD6670, doubtful.

According to AMD, the HD6530D+HD6670 is supposed to be equivalent to something called "HD 6690D2". But, according to this article, you don't always get that dual-graphics performance boost: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/amd-...975-2.html. Then at the end, they have a A8-3800 / HD6670 sytem they've put together.

From everything I've read, the real sweetspot is G620 + HD6670. I don't have a G620 on-hand so I'll just have to run with what I have and see how the numbers come out. Probably G530 + HD6670 is close enough. $40 for the processor + $75 for the card = $115 which will buy you a A8-5500 or i3-2120. I don't know how A8-5500 would stack up against G530 + HD6670 but I am sure i3-2120 won't run the games the HD6670 can.

I looked at the Sapphire HD7750 but didn't like needing a mini-HDMI to HDMI dongle (even though it comes with one). I'd probably opt for the PowerColor low-profile HD7750: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...6814131480

I saw a lot of tests, and the HD6690D2 is not much better than HD6670 by itself....some users end up using HD6670 by itself....

Actually, I see the Micro HDMI as a plus. It is designed for multiple display ports. I always have one of these on hand for smaller gadgets- BlueRigger High Speed Micro HDMI to HDMI cable with Ethernet (6 Feet).....it's very cheap...

You will be better off with this "Premium picoPSU-160-XT/16A 192W AC-DC" for A6-3500 plus HD7750 in Mini-ITX case......

I'm guessing eBay charged them to advertise, and they charged their customer extra to cover the cost.....Sad
