Kodi/XBMC in the media? Post links here
More bad news with TorrentFreak keeping associating Kodi/XBMC with piracy by mentioning it in these types of news stories, and while TorrentFreak probabbaly do not mean to gain users from Kodi unlike some others out there, this repetetive association is still most likley bad publicity for Kodi.

http://torrentfreak.com/when-piracy-gets...se-150620/

I think that articles like these that can make anti-piracy lobby groups such FACT and BREIN blacklist Kodi in general and then go out of their way to activly report it to try to get it banned from app stores or worse such as even take direct or indirect legal actions against Kodi.

Answering the question: Can and will Amazon block sideloading or Kodi on the Fire TV?
http://www.aftvnews.com/answering-the-qu...e-fire-tv/

Amazon Appstore removed Kodi for false reputation of “facilitating piracy”, while Google Play Store approves Kodi

Great press responses by Android Police, The Stack, Slashdot, The Register, plus more here, I think that bad press like that will hopefully make Amazon think twice

Few of additional dramatic re-post articles and discussion comments here on The Register and Slashdot about Amazon's bad decision which is poor press for them too:

I made this comment on Reddit, too, but having now seen a video of it as well as the screen shots, I can't be the only one a little concerned that the the 'Addon Installer' and 'Notification' plugins by TVAddons seem to be included in their setup?

Is it their setup that is including them, or this user submitted videos and screen shots?

"Kodi itself isn’t necessarily intended to be used to pirate pay TV or steal movies, but it certainly puts the gun in the user’s hand, even if it doesn’t pull the trigger."

Let's rather say that we build the gun. Users still have to go get it, insert the bullets and pull the trigger.
We actively fight those selling the gun with the bullets already "loaded", though Wink

Yeah, you can just as easily go duck hunting as do anything else with a gun. Whether you go legal is your decision.

Oh, regarding the Alienware video, I guess it was definitely a media screw up. One of the PMs said those addons are definitely not shipped out of the box.

That's what I figured, the screen shots I've seen elsewhere must have come from the same set up.

So... Have Dell supplied all Team members with awesome gaming rigs? Tongue

Kodi is mentioned and given quite a good rating in APC magazine in Australia in the July 2015 issue.

My Hebrew article about Kodi 15.0, I should warn that Google Translate doesn't do well when it comes to translating Hebrew.

Please note that I did mentioned the VBox Gateway devices in the article because of the newly added PVR addon for VBox, as I reviewed the DVB-T2/C model a few weeks ago with regards to Kodi, and this is a product from a local company which is very affordable here (international shipping and VAT making alternatives unaffordable) and it's the best option for local users here to integrate FTA service with Kodi without setting up a PVR backend.
So it's clear that there's no affiliation with Kodi but my personal opinion is that the device is a nice solution for local users here and it worth mentioning in the article.
Also please note that I'm not affiliated with VBox.
