Sound & Resolution
#1
Hi all,

Hopefully someone can help...

I have had my dedicated media PC running XBMC 9 for a couple of years - no problems.
It is a small media case with a Zotac Ion motherboard.

Today I wanted to move it to use on a different TV.
The TV I want to use is an older LG tv (LG26LC2R) 720p HD ready TV.

The problem is - I cant get the correct resolution to show as an option, and there is no sound coming through via the HDMI port.
I've tried all the options under the sound settings for HDMI, but no luck.

I decided to install XBMC v11 on here, but the exact same thing happens.
I've moved it back to my previous TV (50" Samsung) and it works fine.

Ive read about forcing the system to use a specicied resolution, but not really found any pointers on the sound issue.

Can someone help?

Thanks.
Ian.

Thanks for the reply...

My audio is on card 0, device 3

Ive checked that nothing is muted, and everything is ok.
When I try and do a speaker test, I get an error:

playback open error: -16 device or resource busy

On another note - I'm struggling to get 720p resolution on the screen.
Easiest option would be to go buy a new TV !! But I'm going to give this a try first.

Thanks

The sound works fine when connected to one TV through HDMI, but not when connected to the other.

All settings remain the same.

My Virgin media box sends sound through HDMI - no problem.

Any ideas?
