New HTPC ITX Build
#1
Hey guys, working on getting the parts for an ITX HTPC for the family room. Nothing will be stored on it. It will be streaming content from my server via wifi for now until I get time to wire the house.

I already have the case however still working on the other parts.

What do you guys think of the i3-2120 3ghz in an Antec ISK300-150
Would there be enough room for the cpu fan? I can't find the i3 2100T anywhere.

I also need 8GB Ram to go with the Asus P8H61-I mobo that I'm getting. DDR3-1333. Could you guys point out which one from this site goes well with the Asus P8H61-I

I know that is why I want 8gig because I like everything to be overkill.

Two replies and still no RAM suggestions, only wise answers. I love this forum.

Crucial CT2KIT51264BA1339 8GB 2X4GB DDR3-1333 CL9 Dual Channel Memory Kit

43CDN, pretty decent.

Almost bought 32$ Corsair, but found it was 1.6v.

For mini-ITX builds this is my preferred RAM: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...6820139046. It's low profile, fast, reliable and inexpensive.\

I can also confirm it works with the ASUS P8H61-I from personal experience.

Which case did you get?

Here is a better Core I3-2120T, 2X 2.60GHZ + Corsair XMS3 8 GB (2 x 4GB) for $172....

>Alienware X51- do it all HTPC
>Simplify XBMC configurations
>HOW-TO Bitstreaming using XBMC
I refused to watch movie without bitstreaming HD audio!
