I've bee lurking on here for a couple of weeks and figured I would post up my soon to be gaming PC converted to HTPC.

Case: Silverstone Full ATX HTPC
MoBo: GIGabyte P45UD3R
CPU: Wolfdale E8400
Memory: 4GB DDR2 800
PSU: OCZ 600W
GPU: Planning on a GT 430
Storage: 2 WD green (1 @ 2TB, 1 @ 1.5TB)
Boot Drive: 64GB SATA II SSD.
Disc Drive: Lite-on Blu Ray

I plan on running XBMC (Eden RC2) controlled by a harmony 650. I also plan on getting the lenovo mini keyboard + mouse combo. I would like this setup to be able bitstream all HD audio (dolby truHD and DTS-MA) through HDMI. Do you guys have suggestions on software for watching and Ripping Blur Rays? Will this be enough processor for BR rips? Thanks for you help, suggestions, and time. This site is a treasure trove of information.

your going to be fine with your setup.
it'll work.

XBMC + ANYDVD HD can let u play bluray discs.
but note that u wont get bd menus and bonus's...
u'll see the movie and thats it.

if u want bd menus and stuff,
many use TotalMediaTheater

You can rip your blurays discs using ANYDVD HD + MAKEMKV

Great CPU and it should be able to handle XBMC with any skin....

For about the same price, I'm suggesting AMD HD6570 over Nvidia GT430....
