ATV 1 Crystalbuntu HD Playback problems.
#1
As above Im running a ATV 1 with the Crystal HD upgrade installed. I'm running crystalbuntu standalone.

Ive got my 500GB HDD connected to my Apple AirportExtreme Via USB, and have tried streaming using both AFP and SMB. Both configured through XBMC.

Im getting stuttering at like 10 second intervals. A little glitch and then it continues. Or it can skip and then fast forward for like 2 seconds.

It only does it on certain films 720p MKV 1080p MKV.

Any ideas?

Nathan

EDIT***

Ive just installed XBMC onto my macbook pro and it plays back the same files the same way using the same share fine via wifi.

1. Try logs and read here: http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=47124
2. This is the section for iOS which runs on the Apple TV 2. The Apple TV 1 runs a stripped down version of OS X so for future reference it should have been posted here: http://forum.xbmc.org/forumdisplay.php?fid=56
Set Up
Raspberry Pi running Raspbmc - XBMC 12.2
40" Samsung ES6800 LED Smart 3D 1080P TV
Onkyo HTS3405 5.1 DD True HD and DTS-HD Surround Sound
ReadyNAS Duo with 4TB (2 x 2TB X-RAID) Western Digital Caviar Green using NFS

I think I may had actually sorted it.

Subtitles where switched on, switched them off now.

Only problem I have now is on the 1080p 10gb files. But that also struggled streaming to my laptop.

Very useful post as I had the same issue (thx). Also, the OP was referring to running XBMC thru ubuntu NOT the mutant OSX ver that the ATV shipped with.

Technically this should go in the Linux support forum, since it's Crystalbuntu. Zoinks.
