Best remote for XBMC?
#76
Hi guys/gals.

I have just taken delivery of this remote.

Seems ok, bit disappointed it doesn't do what I bought it for straight out of the box Sad

All I need is basic navigation. up - down - left - right - select.

What is more disappointing, is the arrow keys and enter on the keyboard side work just fine!, but I bought it to use the remote side with Kodi, and the bonus of a keyboard on the back for whe I need it.

Is there no way to re-program via the usb to assign the keys from the keyboard side to do the same as the remote side?

Unfortunately I don't have a MCE remote to program mine up, and buying a MCE remote just so I can program this one to do what I want just seems plain insanity.

ANY help seriously appreciated.

Slightly disappointed at this point!

Use this add-on in XBMC / Kodi to remap keys:

Quick question. I have a FireTV that I use in conjunction with my Chromebox. I like the FireTV remote a lot but when I pair it with the Chromebox it unpairs from the FireTV. Is there anyway to use the same remote for both the Chromebox and the FireTV or do I need a separate remote?

Thats not how Bluetooth pairing works.
You can pair with one device only at any one time.
Separate remote needed.

IR FLIRC + Xbox 360 Media Remote or similar recommended for the Chromebox.

We have one of these http://www.amazon.com/TOMTOP-Wireless-Ke...0_33920290
that works well with XBMC and our HTPC in general.
