I have XBMC running on my iPad - is there a way to stream directly to my ATV2?

If xbmc supports sending of AirPlay then yet but i don't think it does. If not why not just put xbmc On the atv2?

Isn't that one of the things in the latest iOS5 is mirroring iPad to ATV?

IIRC, the native video-out code that Memphiz is working on will enable this.

Which is to say, it should work now with generic mirroring (gives it a border around the sides and is limited to upscaling the iPad2's resolution.
Memphiz's code should allow it to do real/full 720p output to the ATV2 and 1080p to the ATV3 (I think. Not sure about the ATV3).

What's the word on this? Is it implemented in the latest nightly yet? As I get full res to the atv3 from my ipad3 but it's very jerky and spikes at times!?
