Win Ambient Lighting with XBMC (Arduino)
#1
Lightbulb
Hey guys,

I am thinking of adding some ambient lighting to my display. The only trouble is I have no experience in doing this. However, I want to try and do it.

From my understanding, these are the parts that I would need.

Arduino UNO Rev3 Development Board (LINK)

RGB LED (LINK)

ULN2003A to Control the LEDs (LINK)

12 V DC Supply (LINK)

Are these enough for me to start building this project? Do I need anything else?

And Once its built, how do i run it with XBMC?

would be enough, yes.
I´d suggest using some tlc5940 for example though, you´ll only have 2 channels with your setup otherwise (6 pwm outputs) With two tlc5940 you´d get 10 channels. that´s what i soldered together.
to run it with xbmc: look in service addons section for boblight.

Is this the right tlc5940 that you're speaking of?

Also, Is there any guides on how to achieve this, as I don't know where to begin.
