Cases with display? (similar to Antec Fusion Remote)
#1
Question
I'm looking for case recommendations. My requirements/taste are pretty specific:

Very similar to the Antec Fusion Remote Black:
- Desktop form factor (no tower, no cube, etc. but A/V device style), the smaller/flatter ones (not as high as a Zalman)
- Display
- Aluminium or steel
- Black
- less than 200 USD

Who can recommend such cases?

Use Silverstone ML03+imon VFD.

I had a look at that case before but it only has one external drive bay that could be used for an imon display but then I can't add a bluray drive.

Any other suggestions?

If you ask me I would say the imon LCD and remote are utter crap. I just bought a new Antec fusion remote just three days back. While the LCD is acceptable, I found the remote to be crap. The Antec cabinet is just awesome. Try if you can get that one.

Plus a screen. Lian Li cases are amazing.

So how do you like it with the crappy remote? Or were you able to replace it with a better remote?
I was searching for that case a lot but it's really hard to find. Where did you get it?

thanks, but actually a bit too big for my taste (and expensive given that the display goes extra).

Does anyone know whether this Silverstone
SST-LC17B (Black)
works with an additional display? It has two external drive bays, but they look a bit small...

I am currently using an HP OEM MCE remote. I have ordered for a Inteset 4 in 1 learning MCE remote and I hope to teach it to learn the imon power button. Using HP mce, power on is possible from shutdown state only if the power is not completely switched off. You can also use harmony or One For All URC instead of the imon PAD remote. I'm from India and here Antec Fusion is available for an equivalent of 180USD.

Yeah, I understand.

Problem is those Sliverstone bays aren't your average external bay. The bays are actually a cover over a DVD/Blu Ray drive. I have that on my desktop, and its very nice. But the cover would block your screen. You could cut the cover off or something, but then the screen will be recessed in the bay. It won't look clean.

Based on a Newegg search here are the options I discovered. My issue is unlike my first suggestion they all have smaller fans (so they will be louder) but they will work:

silverstone ml02, as said previously though, use a universal remote and program lirc to use mce commands instead of the included remote.
Don't be scared to ask questions. Odds are someone else is wondering the same thing.
