Has anyone managed to get HDMI audio to work?
#1
On the Acer Revo R3700 with XBMCbuntu. It seems I have tried every single solution available on the internet and none of them have worked. I did manage to have the navigation sounds working at one point but after trying the latest "fix" even those aren't working now. And alsamixer is broken.

I'm close to giving up on this software, although it's absolutely amazing it is kind of useless without sound.

I got my setup to work following this guide.
http://http.download.nvidia.com/XFree86/...audio.html

Does sound work via hdmi outside XBMC ?
I don't use onboard sound - disabled in BIOS. I have HDMI (NVidia GTX460) to Receiver (Yamaha RX-V671) to TV

God damn it that's the answer. I disabled the onboard audio and now it works fine Smile

You can get both to work but requires a bit of effort. Glad that worked for you - enjoy Smile
